TheSeniorSolarEstimator willleadvariousestimatesforprojectsintheRenewableEnergyMarketUtilityScaleSolar.Dutieswillinclude,butarenotlimitedto readingandinterpretingdocuments,subcontractorsolicitation,analyzingdrawingandspecifications,reviewing,andassistingwithproposalsandotherdocumentationtopreparedetailedcostestimatesforvariousprojects.

TheSeniorSolarEstimator playsakeyroleinthepre-constructionprocessbydevelopingaccurateandcompetitivecostestimatesthatsupportprojectfeasibilityandsuccessfulexecutionforourprospectivecommercialcustomersofallsizes.Thispositioncollaboratescloselywithdesign,engineering,projectmanagement,procurement,operations,andexternalpartnerstoensureestimatesreflectconstructability,marketconditions,andprojectrisktodeliverthemostefficientend-producttoourclientele.

Responsibilities&EssentialFunctions

ProjectScoping&PreliminaryAnalysis

• Developpreliminaryprojectscopesandconceptualdesignsthatalignwithcustomerandcompanyobjectives.
• Completepre-constructionsurveys,feasibilityreviews,andotherpreliminaryestimatingresearchanddocumentation.
• Conductthoroughreviewsofplansandspecificationstoensurecompletescopecoverageandaccuratetakeoffs.
• Reviewandinterpretcontractspecifications,drawings,andprojectdocumentstoensureestimatesalignwithprojectrequirements.

Estimating,Takeoffs,&CostDevelopment

• Performaccuratetakeoffsanddevelopcomprehensivepricingestimatesforequipment,labor,materials,subcontractors,andindirectcosts.
• Developgeneralconditions,allowances,exclusions,andcontingenciesaspartofprojectestimates.
• Obtainandapplyapplicablewagerates,includingprevailingwagerequirementsandlaborclassifications,basedonjurisdictionorcontractrequirements.
• Assistindevelopingpreliminaryconstructionduration'sandscheduletemplatestosupportpricingandproposaldevelopment.

Vendor&SubcontractorCoordination

• Preparesolicitationpackagesforvendorsandsubcontractors.
• Analyzesubcontractorandsupplierproposalsanddevelopcomparisonmatricesandestimatesummarysheets.

Cross-FunctionalCollaboration&RiskEvaluation

• PartnerwithDesignandOperationsteamstoanalyzeestimates,identifyrisks,assessconstructability,andpursuevalueengineeringandcost-savingopportunitieswhilemaintainingqualityandcompliance.
• Coordinatewithengineeringconsultants,designers,andinternalstakeholderstoclarifyscope,resolvediscrepancies,andgatherrequiredestimatinginputs.

Proposal&Pre-ConstructionSupport

• Supportproposaldevelopmentbycoordinatinginputs,preparingpricingnarratives,assistingwithchangeorders,andhelpingassemblefinalproposals.
• Attendpre-bidmeetings,sitewalks,andoccasionalcustomer-facingsitevisitsorpresentationstovalidateassumptionsandreviewproposedsolutions.

IndustryKnowledge&ContinuousImprovement

• Maintainanunderstandingofrenewableenergypoliciesandincentivesandtheirimpactonequipmentselectionandestimatingstrategies.
• Staycurrentonindustry-standardestimatingsoftware,tools,andemergingtechnologies,andevaluatenewsolutionstoimproveaccuracyandefficiency.

Skills/Qualifications

Experience

• 3-5yearsofprovenexperienceincommercialsolarestimation,constructionestimation,and/ordesign,orrelatedfieldpreferredorequivalentcombinationofeducationandrelevantworkexperienceconsidered.
• ExperienceestimatingUtilityScaleSolarprojects(electricalandmechanical).
• NABCEPPVDesignCertification,NABCEPPVInstallationProfessionalCertificationorNABCEPPVSystemInspectorCertification(orabilitytoobtainwithin12months).
• Strongunderstandingofconstructionmeansandmethods,electricalsystems,andsolarbalance-of-systemcomponents(required).

Education

Bachelor’sdegreeinEngineering,ConstructionManagementorsimilaroranequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperience.

Experience

5-7years’experienceinconstruction.Experienceinestimating,costcontroland/orestimatingexperiencerelatedtoUtility-ScaleSolar,electrical,orotherrelatedconstructionexperience.

• ParticipateinresponsestoRFP’s/RFQ’saswellasparticipateinpresentationsdeliveredtoclientsforprojectpricing.

• Participateinpre-bidmeetings,bidstrategyandclientpresentationsasrequired.
• Managesubordinatesassignedtoestimatingdepartmentandprovideguidanceandtrainingasneededtosupportteammembers.
• Attendvariousnetworking/socialeventsengageasanactivememberinindustryassociations/non-profitorganizations,representingthecompany.Reviewandassistinpreparationandculminationofprojectestimatesandbids.
