Job Title: USABO (USA Biology Olympiad) Coach

Location: (Remote)

Job Type: (Part-time 6-12hr)

Compensation: (Starting by $40/hr)

LongWings Education is a STEM education company located in Long Island, New York. We focused on STEAM and targeted K-12 students. We provide ELA, AMC, Debate, Public Speaking, SAT, USABO, USACO, Robotics subject tutoring.

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate USABO Coach to mentor and train high school students for the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) competition . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced biology, experience in competitive biology coaching, and the ability to inspire and guide students to excel in this rigorous academic competition.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a structured training program to prepare students for all stages of USABO (Open Exam, Semifinal, and National Finals).
  • Teach advanced biological concepts, including molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, ecology, and physiology, at an Olympiad level.
  • Provide problem-solving strategies, lab techniques, and critical-thinking skills necessary for USABO success.
  • Administer and evaluate practice exams, mock tests, and problem sets to track student progress.
  • Offer individualized feedback and mentorship to help students improve their performance.
  • Stay updated with USABO trends, past exam patterns, and competition requirements.
  • Motivate and inspire students to develop a deep interest in biology and scientific inquiry.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field (current students with strong USABO experience may be considered).
  • Previous participation in USABO (Semifinalist, Finalist, or medalist preferred).
  • Teaching/tutoring experience, especially in competitive biology (e.g., USABO, IBO, AP Biology, or similar).

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Olympiad-level biology.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to design engaging and challenging lesson plans.
  • Preferred: Experience in research, lab work, or academic competitions.
