Position Summary
The Director, Strategic Initiatives & Business Operations, serves as a strategic leader responsible for driving business performance, organizational effectiveness, and cross‑functional execution across the merchandising organization. This role partners across Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Replenishment, and Supplier teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives, improve business processes, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The Director also supports supplier investment and Directed Spend strategies, helping align resources and funding opportunities to key business priorities.
About the team
The team serves as the strategic planning and execution engine for the Health & Services organization. Working across business and operational functions, the team translates strategy into actionable plans, drives organizational change, improves operating processes, and leads initiatives that support growth, profitability, and operational excellence. Through strong cross‑functional partnerships, the team helps ensure alignment, accountability, and successful execution of key business priorities.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute strategic plans by analyzing business performance, market trends, and customer needs.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives that improve business results, operational effectiveness, and organizational performance.
- Drive organizational change and process improvement efforts, ensuring successful adoption and execution.
- Establish performance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and decision‑making frameworks.
- Identify business opportunities and develop actionable solutions that drive outcomes.
- Lead business planning activities, including forecasting, resource planning, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Replenishment, and Supplier teams to align priorities and deliver strategic objectives.
- Support supplier investment and Directed Spend initiatives by identifying opportunities, evaluating effectiveness, and helping maximize business impact.
- Build strong internal and external partnerships

- Excellent communication skills, including executive presentations and strategic business recommendations.
- Experience managing multiple priorities while driving accountability and execution.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 6 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience
