Responsibilities
- Provide evidence‑based vision care to ensure patient health and well‑being by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options (e.g., red eye, LASIK surgery, cataract surgery).
- Deliver routine vision care using evidence‑based care guidelines.
- Educate patients and store associates on eye health, including contact lens care, disease state management, and safety factors.
- Consult with other health professionals to prepare patient care plans, observing optometry scope of practice per state board.
- Embrace and operate new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation such as digital phoropters, EMR, and OCT/retinal camera combo.
- Apply business analysis to evaluate profitability and risks of business choices, forecast growth, costs, and challenges.
- Create a customer‑centered environment, ensuring removal of barriers to deliver exceptional customer/member value, service and support.
- Manage optical operations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for prescriptions, claims, and associate training.
- Ensure safety and quality standards, implement SOPs, monitor compliance with HIPAA and billing procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, mentor staff, and foster an adaptive culture.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Experience treating and managing ocular disease.
- Ability to adopt new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation.
- Strong communication, business analysis, and leadership skills.
Salary and Compensation
Annual salary range: $135,000.00 – $200,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional factors: Regional Pay Zone, Complex Structure based on location and external challenges.
