Position Summary
A Walmart Associate Optometrist is the clinical partner to the Vision Center Manager and is core to our mission of advancing eyecare affordably for everyone.
What You’ll Do
- Provide evidence‑based vision care, recommending and prescribing medications and treatment options such as red eye, LASIK surgery, and cataract surgery.
- Deliver routine vision care using evidence‑based care guidelines.
- Educate patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease‑state management, and safety factors.
- Consult with other health professionals to prepare patient care plans while observing optometry scope of practice per state board.
- Embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation, integrating digital phoropters, EMR, Maestro (OCT/retinal camera combo) and other advanced tools.

Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Eagerness to embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation.
- Experience treating and managing ocular disease.

Compensation and Location
Annual salary range: $135,000.00 – $200,000.00.
Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone based on location, and a Complex Structure based on external factors.
