Tax Manager For North Americas And US InternationalOceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. The role supports a multinational operating environment and partners closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers.This position is expected to allocate effort approximately as follows: 30% tax accounting, 40% tax compliance, and 30% tax research and planning, including support for business operations, special projects, and tax controversy matters. The Tax Manager assists the Director in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant tax provision, compliance, audit, and planning outcomes for the region and oversees outsourced tax compliance activities.Work Location & TravelHybrid work environment with a combination of in-office and remote workDomestic and international travel up to approximately 15%FunctionsManage quarterly and annual income tax provision processes for assigned jurisdictionsOversee preparation and review of provision and compliance workpapers, including U.S. international tax calculations (e.g., Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, Pillar Two)Review and prepare monthly and quarterly tax accruals, tax payments, and tax account reconciliationsSubstantiate tax account balances, including deferred taxes, income tax payable/receivable, uncertain tax positions, and true-up analysesCollaborate with the Global Tax Reporting Manager to ensure RTP and TBBS documentation is prepared, reviewed, and maintained accurately and on a timely basisEnsure compliance with tax laws and filing requirements across applicable operating jurisdictionsCoordinate tax filings and information requests with third-party service providers, including US international reporting (e.g., Forms 1042, 5471, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8992, 8993), other tax filings for assigned jurisdictions, and Pillar Two filingsManage and review outsourced tax compliance deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cost effectivenessMonitor U.S. and international tax legislative and regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on company operationsSupport tax planning initiatives, including analysis of cash tax and financial reporting impactsAssist with special projects such as foreign restructurings and other cross-border initiativesPartner with regional tax managers to appropriately reflect international tax matters in global provision and compliance processesOwn global transfer pricing compliance, including preparation and coordination of transfer pricing documentation, Master File, Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), and Pillar Two-related transfer pricing requirementsIdentify and implement process improvement opportunities within tax provision and compliance, with a focus on technology enablementCollaborate effectively with shared service teams, including the India tax team, and with cross-functional stakeholders across the organizationContribute to enterprise initiatives and broader tax planning effortsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has supervisory responsibilities.Reporting RelationshipDirector, US Tax and Global Tax ProvisionQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 7 years of corporate and/or public accounting tax experience, with emphasis on U.S. international tax compliance, planning, research, and tax accountingPrior managerial or supervisory experienceStrong research, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsMaster's degree in Taxation, JD, or LLM with a tax emphasisCPA or CPA candidateExperience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of bothExperience with Canadian or other non-U.S. tax compliance, planning, and tax accountingWorking knowledge of PeopleSoft and Oracle Fusion ERP systemsExperience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision or equivalentExperience with ONESOURCE Income Tax or equivalentExperience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, or similar data and automation toolsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other CharacteristicsDemonstrates agility and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environmentBuilds strong working relationships across the Tax function and the broader organizationApplies technical judgment and develops expertise through on-the-job learning and feedbackUses systems and data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities and support sound decision-makingDocuments processes, analyses, and conclusions to support tax provision, compliance, controversy, and reporting requirementsCoaches and develops others by recognizing strengths and encouraging ownership of professional developmentCommunicates complex information effectively to managementSupports continuous improvement, standardization, and implementation initiativesContributes to an inclusive and collaborative team cultureWorking ConditionsThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at nightOccasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplaceWork surface is stable (flat)Physical Activity/RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
