You'll propose ideas, review designs and participate in discussions with senior architects. You demonstrate critical thinking and strong analytical skills. Also, as a senior engineer, you take complete ownership of all aspects of building the software - design, development, quality, security, performance and scale.In a typical day you'll:Design, develop and test the features that takes vCenter Server Platform to the futureOwn complete software development life cycle of the featuresApply coding guidelines, best practices and test-driven development methodsInteract with PMs, UI/UX to provide the best experience for our customersRespond to customer issuesBuild features for both on-prem cloud and VMware on AWS cloud deploymentImprove and maintain CI pipelines for your componentsWork with other team members to review the design, code, integrate and release the softwareInnovate to solve the business problems in a dynamic environmentRequired Skills:Experience as a software engineer building production grade software with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded programming, and software designStrong object-oriented skills with C++Understanding of software design principles, coding best practices and debugging techniquesExperience with programming in Linux environmentYou communicate clearly and write functional, design and test specification documents wellStrong analytical skillsUnderstanding of distributed systems programmingEnthusiastic to learn new technologies and toolsBe flexible and good team playerBachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or similarPreferred: MS in CS, CE or equivalentPlease send candidates with this information.
