Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

This position is solely focused on outpatient general neurology, providing care across three community-based practice locations. The practice involves evaluating and managing adult and geriatric patients with common neurological conditions such as headaches, migraines, seizure disorders, neuropathy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders, and post-stroke follow-up. Physicians will review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and outside medical records, and coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The role requires a consistent commitment to a minimum of three days per week, with full-time availability preferred. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Physicians will rotate among the practice locations, allowing for engagement with different patient populations and practice settings. The need for coverage is ongoing until a permanent neurologist is hired, providing both stability and an opportunity for long-term placement.

Support and Work Environment

Physicians will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment with access to an interdisciplinary team and an established referral network. The practice locations are equipped with Cerner EMR systems, enhancing the efficiency of documentation and patient care coordination. Travel logistics are well-managed, with reimbursements for airfare, lodging, and transportation, ensuring a seamless experience for the physician.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license or willingness to obtain one.
• Active DEA and New Jersey CDS registration required prior to start.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with Cerner or comparable EMR systems preferred.
• Ability to provide independent outpatient coverage and rotate among practice locations.
