Urologist

Folio Clinical Research is recruiting on behalf of a partner urology practice in Los Angeles. This is a clinical practice position. All applications and inquiries are handled by Folio’s recruiting team, and candidate details are shared only with the hiring physician.

The practice is a long-established, physician-led urology group affiliated with Cedars-Sinai. It combines a broad general urology practice with genuine subspecialty depth — urologic oncology, focal therapy for prostate cancer including HIFU and TULSA, nerve-sparing robotic prostatectomy, MRI fusion biopsy, and men’s health. On-site diagnostics allow much of the workup to be completed during the visit rather than deferred.

The clinical team includes multiple physicians, physician assistants, and medical assistants working closely together. The culture is flat and collaborative, with real mutual respect between physicians and advanced practice staff.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The practice is seeking a urologist to join an established multi-physician group. The role is a broad general urology practice with the opportunity to develop subspecialty focus over time depending on interest and experience.

Prior clinical research experience is not required. Physicians relocating to Southern California are welcome to apply — the practice has recruited from out of state previously.

This is a high-volume outpatient practice with a comprehensive workup culture. Clinic days are full, and the practice values thoroughness — additional diagnostics are frequently completed during the same visit rather than scheduled separately. Candidates should be comfortable with a busy clinic and a practice style that prioritizes complete evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Practice

• Provide comprehensive outpatient urologic care across the general urology spectrum, including BPH, kidney and bladder stones, prostate disorders, urinary incontinence, and men’s health
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients using on-site diagnostic capabilities to complete workups efficiently
• Perform in-office procedures consistent with training and credentialing
• Perform surgical procedures as scheduled, consistent with hospital and surgery center privileges
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing; communicate results and treatment plans clearly to patients
• Work alongside physician assistants and medical assistants as an integrated clinical team, with shared responsibility for patient throughput and quality
• Collaborate with partner physicians on complex cases and coordinate subspecialty referrals within the group
• Support a collegial practice culture built on mutual respect across all roles

Call Coverage

• Participate in the practice’s weekend call rotation. Saturdays and Sundays are divided among the physician group rather than assigned as full weekends, and the call calendar is set annually with physician input
• Participate in Cedars-Sinai emergency department call as assigned through the hospital’s credentialing and departmental process

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
• Practice in accordance with applicable federal and California regulations, HIPAA, and practice policies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completed ACGME-accredited residency training in Urology
• Board certified by the American Board of Urology
• Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one US state
• California medical license, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start — the practice supports candidates through California licensure
• Eligible for medical staff privileges at Cedars-Sinai
• DEA registration and California CURES enrollment, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• No current or pending National Practitioner Data Bank reports
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest or experience in urologic oncology, focal therapy for prostate cancer (HIFU, TULSA), or robotic surgery
• Experience with MRI fusion biopsy and prostate cancer diagnostics
• Experience in a private practice or high-volume outpatient setting
• Interest in men’s health, including sexual health and testosterone management
• Established or transferable referral relationships in the Los Angeles area
