nJob Summary Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients through collaboration with a designated physician.
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities
nAssess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician
nCollaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.
nEducate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
nMaintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records.
nDocument all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations
nOrder diagnostic tests as appropriate.
nPrescribe medications within scope of license.
nFacilitate evaluation of records by physician(s) according to protocols and receive and implement constructive directives.
nPromote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling.
nRegular attendance to ensure efficient operations
nExperience with wound care and laceration management
nQualifications
nAbility to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Records system
nAbility and willingness to work weekend and holiday work as required

nPrior experience in primary/urgent care or internal medicine practice is desirable
nEducation and Experience
nCurrent licensure as a Certified Physician Assistant
nPhysical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
