We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician Assistant in Midlothian, Virginia.
Shift: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM; 12+ hour shifts depending upon patient flow; 3 shifts per week.
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Position Details: Full-time coverage with 3 shifts per week. Clinics are open 7 days a week, and providers are expected to see all patients who arrive during operating hours. Approximately patients per day, with higher volume approaching cold and flu season. Credentialing timeframe is days.
Patient Population: Birth to death; varies from clinic to clinic and day by day.
Setting: 100% outpatient clinic
Responsibilities: Provide urgent care services including laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, minor burn management, skin lesion care, orthopedic and injury stabilization, splinting and casting, joint reduction, diagnostic and point-of-care testing, X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, point-of-care lab interpretation, epistaxis management, cerumen impaction removal, and airway support including nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization.
Required Procedures: Simple, intermediate, and complex laceration repair; I&D including packing; foreign body removal; minor burn management; skin lesion care; orthopedic and injury stabilization; splinting and casting; joint reduction; epistaxis management; cerumen impaction removal; airway support.
EMR System: Epic
Days Per Month: Approximately shifts per month
On-Call/Weekends: No call. Weekend coverage expected.
