We offer our employees competitive compensation and benefits, flexibility and opportunity for growth and advancement.This position requires evening, weekend and holiday availability, as well as, flexibility with location/travel.Responsibilities:Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smileAssists patients with signing in and completing registrationEnters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into the EMRVerifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefitsCollects co-payments and patient balancesAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesAssists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testingSends patient records to primary care physicianTakes vital signs, performs EKGs and assists providers with patient carePrepares exam rooms for patients and documents patient encounters in EMRPerforms lab testing and quality assurancePrepares and tracks specimens sent to labRestocks and maintains inventory of exam rooms, lab and storage roomsPlaces outgoing phone calls to patients for follow up care and handles incoming phone calls from patientsAssists with other tasks as assignedQualifications:High School diploma required; Associates Degree or some college coursework completed preferredKnowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans preferredEMR experience preferredCustomer service experience and strong computer skills requiredCertification in Medical Assisting, EKG and phlebotomy, or EMTExperience with vital signs requiredExperience with basic lab testing, EKG and quality assurance requiredMedical office experience preferred; Urgent Care experience highly desiredProHEALTH strives to maintain a workplace that accepts and appreciates the differences among our employees.
