Unit Operations Specialist IIProvides functional supervision, coordinates activities of support personnel and performs a variety of complex/diversified tasks related to unit operations.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflowMay assist staff by scheduling and coordinating support activitiesProvides orientation and training to part time staffProvides customer service for students, faculty and community patrons by assisting with software support and training, resolving logon issues, monitors classroom equipment and prepares classroom spacesSupplies operational support to college departmentsContributes in department initiatives, seminars and workshopsMaintains general clerical activity records and compiles basic unit reportsStudies and standardizes procedures for improvement within the unitPrepares for submission and create budget entry as neededFunctionally supervise student assistants in the assigned unitPerforms other related duties within the job grade and job classification as assignedRequired qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDThree years of experience servicing students in an academic settingAdministrative support experienceOne year of previous functional supervisory experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service skillsSkills in keyboarding, basic math, basic grammar, intermediate level word processing (MS Word) and intermediate level spreadsheet applications (MS Excel)Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the communityPreferred qualifications:Associate DegreeSkills in advanced level word processing (MS Word), advanced level spreadsheet applications (MS Excel)Advanced level presentation software skillsExperience with Banner Student Information SystemPrevious experience with assisting in monitoring and preparing a departmental budgetWork is performed in an office setting with moderate noise level.
