Job Description And Duties
The role of the Supervisor I is to act as the financial advisor to the Managed Care Operations Division (MCOD) and Managed Care Quality Monitoring Division (MCQMD) management. The Supervisor I provides leadership, direction, and supervision to the Financial Management Unit (FMU) staff which includes planning, organizing, prioritizing, and directing the daily and long term activities of the FMU. The FMU provides division-wide and branch-level support in the areas of budget development, budget revisions, grant management, fiscal reporting, expenditure monitoring, in-state/out-of-state travel, and financial management activities in support of initiatives such as the California Advancing & Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM). FMU acts as the liaison team for Financial Management Division's Accounting and Budget offices, and the Fiscal Forecasting Division (FFD).
Description of Duties
The incumbent directs the planning, implementation, and review of financial management activities for two divisions, MCOD and MCQMD. The incumbent works closely with the Division Chiefs, Branch Chiefs, and other managers to coordinate and centralize all appropriate financial management functions. The incumbent develops and implements changes in procedures and functions as necessary so as to improve division efficiency and coordination.

Telework
This position is currently eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
