Unit-Based Nurse Educator – 6 Central Transplant Unit

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced Unit-Based Nurse Educator to support 6 Central, our 38-bed Transplant Unit. This highly specialized unit cares for patients undergoing liver and kidney transplants, urology procedures, colorectal surgeries, and bariatric surgeries.
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing clinical excellence by supporting education, competency, and professional development for nursing staff caring for complex surgical and transplant patients. The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central Transplant Unit. In this role, you will partner with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. You will support unit-based orientation, ongoing education and competency validation, regulatory compliance and quality initiatives. You will also serve as a clinical and educational resource for frontline nursing staff.
What You'll Do:
- Facilitate orientation for new transplant unit nursing staff
- Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory and competency-based training
- Provide education related to transplant care and advanced surgical recovery
- Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development
- Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice
- Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning
- Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs
What You'll Need:
- Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience
- Preferred:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff development
- Clinical expertise:
- Experience with liver and kidney transplants
- Urology procedures
- Colorectal surgeries
- Bariatric surgeries

Pay Range: $38.11 - $98.23
