We are supporting a family owned subcontractor specializing in placing & finishing structural and turn-key concrete. The current Union Payroll and Labor Compliance Specialist is retiring in December and the CFO is looking for a permanent hire to start ASAP!

- Union employees = 115 across 5 unions
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 per year
Shift: First
Work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities
- Process Weekly Payroll: Calculate and execute weekly payroll for hourly and field construction crews.
- Timecard Auditing: Review and audit field timecards, checking for correct labor allocations, overtime calculations, and meal-period compliance.
- Transaction Management: Process new hires, terminations, rate adjustments, and garnishments.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile payroll records against cross-system data and resolve discrepancies with accounting.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with California wage-and-hour regulations, federal rules, and union collective bargaining agreements.
- Certified Payroll: Prepare, verify, and submit certified payroll reports for public works or specific commercial projects when required.
- Wage Verification: Audit classification rates, fringe benefits, and apprenticeship requirements.
