Unified Action Partner/Interagency Exercise SME (Fort Leavenworth, KS)

Position Summary
- Full-Time/ Permanent role supporting the U.S. Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP)
- Design and develop scenarios for large‑scale Warfighter Exercises (WFX) with emphasis on civil domain expertise (Diplomacy/Foreign Policy, Humanitarian Assistance/Refugee Operations, Intelligence, Civil‑Military Operations)
- Collaborate with a large interdisciplinary team to plan, execute, and assess exercises
- Travel up to 50% of the time, including CONUS and OCONUS, to participate in up to 6 live exercises per year (10–15 days each)
- Relocation support available
Responsibilities
- Inject realism and real‑world insights into exercise/scenario design and execution phases
- Support full exercise life cycle tasks from planning through execution and assessment
- Engage with partner agencies and stakeholders to align scenarios with operational objectives
- Provide subject‑matter expertise in the designated civil domain area
- Participate in exercise reviews and post‑exercise debriefs
Qualifications
- Master’s degree and at least 5+ years of recent/relevant experience
- Open only to U.S. citizens with an active SECRET clearance or the ability to gain clearance eligibility
- Prior experience with U.S. State Department, USAID, UN agencies, international NGOs, or national intelligence agencies (CIA, NSA, DNI, USDA, Dept. of Commerce, etc.) is strongly preferred
- Strong interest and familiarity with military exercise design and execution
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $100,000–$120,000 per year (base + extended hours pay + bonuses)
- Travel allowance aligned with exercise participation
