With eleven offices nationwide, the firm specializes in Traditional Life Insurance, Business Continuation Insurance, Private Placement Life Insurance and Annuities, and Corporate-Owned Life Insurance portfolios.Position Summary: The Life Insurance Underwriting Assistant acts as an instrumental resource by providing administrative support to the Underwriting team with case set up, ordering and preparing insurance company forms, tracking underwriting requirements, and entering data for new policies.Position Responsibilities:Case set up: Create and update case record in databaseOrder Prescription Checks and MVRsOrder Attending Physician Statements (APSes) and track progressComplete life insurance applications and prepare for delivery, tagging for required signaturesPrepare documents for signature on DocuSignPrepare and submit MHS paperwork for approvalDistribution and filing of carrier product and underwriting updatesDevelop basic knowledge of carrier productsUse resource websites to download correct and complete sets of current application paperwork for cases moving forwardEnter application and policy information in company databaseCarefully review policies, and prepare policy delivery package and cover letterFax documents to insurance carriers and vendorsCopy and scan applications, policies, and other documentsCreate FedEx labels and packages, and oversee sending out packages via messenger serviceBreak down Underwriting files when a case closes and transition the case to the Client Services teamIdeal Candidate will Possess the Following:Bachelor's degreeExtremely strong detail orientationStrong communications skills - written and verbalStrong ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work with repetitive routine processes and maintain accuracy and efficiencyAbility to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and requestsAbility to set and meet deadlinesAbility to perform well under pressureAbility to multi-task and handle multiple requestsProficiency in Word and Outlook and basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPointAbility to operate in a fast-paced environment along a steep learning curveWorking Conditions/Demands/Complexity:Required to work on a computer for a substantial part of the dayA strong fundamental skillset in the above areas from the outset.
