Supporting new business underwriting for small group level-funded products, the full-time remote Underwriter will evaluate employer group risk, collaborate with sales to craft competitive proposals, and analyze risk factors to inform pricing strategies. Key responsibilities Evaluate employer group risk and determine appropriate pricing for level-funded plans Collaborate with Sales to craft competitive proposals and win business without compromising profitability Analyze risk factors and make informed, data-driven decisions balancing risk tolerance with growth goals Required qualifications 3+ years of underwriting experience, ideally with a focus on small groups and/or level-funded products Strong understanding of health insurance pricing, risk assessment, and underwriting guidelines Experience working at an insurtech, carrier, or TPA focused on the small group market Familiarity with underwriting automation tools or systems Strong data analysis skills (Excel, etc.)
