Evaluating mortgage loan applications that fall outside traditional Qualified Mortgage (QM) guidelines, the full-time remote Underwriter will manually underwrite transactions, perform quality control audits, and collaborate with internal staff to ensure compliance and clear loan conditions. Key responsibilities Manually underwrite mortgage loan transactions to meet company and investor credit guidelines Perform quality control audits of third-party vendors to ensure compliance with credit guidelines Analyze loan applications and assess borrower creditworthiness and associated risks Required qualifications Recent, hands-on non-QM underwriting experience, including DSCR and Bank Statement qualifications 5+ years of experience as an underwriter with a high-volume background Ability to manually calculate income for complex self-employed borrower profiles Proficiency in Encompass for managing workflows and documentation Strong understanding of non-QM guidelines and risk layering
