We are currently recruiting for an Underwriter Professional Risks – Allied Health in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in office and 3 days remote and some travel. The ideal candidate will have 2-4+ years of experience underwriting Allied Healthcare and/or Professional Risks driving new business and underwriting complex renewal business within Allied Health. 105K-120K Base based on experience + bonus + full benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk for professional risk – Allied Health
- Develop new broker relationships and increase depth of existing broker relationships throughout region to increase production
- Engage with the Allied Healthcare team to develop professionally
- Play a key role in executing on regional plan
- Serve as relationship manager for several key Allied Healthcare brokers and spearheading broker turnarounds
- Obtain & maintain underwriting authority in Allied Healthcare practice area
- Monitor product results and develop ideas to increase productivity and profitability
- Regional travel required including industry events and broker visits
Requirements:
- B.A./B.S degree is preferred
- 2-4+ years of experience in Allied Healthcare or Professional Liability coverage
- Customer-centric mind-set and passionate about the power of superior customer service
- Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation and negotiation skills
- Proven track record of understanding and delivering meaningful underwriting profit
- The ability to identify business needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
- Willingness to develop business, with travel throughout the U.S. up to 25%, required
