As a locally-owned general contractor who self-performs 75% of our revenue, our skilled workforce provides exceptional craftmanship that sustains our communities for decades to come.We are looking for an Underground Wet Utilities Leadman to join our team!Performance pay increasesPaid vacation and sick time401(k) with a company matchTraining and advancement opportunitiesPOSITION SUMMARY:The Underground Leadman assists the Underground Foreman in supervising and coordinating the work of the underground crew while gaining the skills and experience necessary for future advancement to a Foreman role.

This position plays a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on the job site.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Underground Foreman in overseeing daily operations and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all timesProvide direction and guidance to crew members to ensure efficient and quality workPerform daily site walkthroughs to verify proper materials, tools, and equipment usageWork closely with the Foreman to resolve on-site issues or conflictsMonitor progress and maintain communication to ensure tasks meet project schedulesTrack and record daily work quantities and submit reports as neededAssist in daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in weekly Toolbox TalksEnsure trenches are excavated, shored, or sloped according to safety standards and specificationsCoordinate equipment and material needs with the Foreman and DispatchServe as a point of contact for crew members and provide mentorship and supportPerform hands-on work alongside the crew as neededContinuously develop skills in underground utility installation, leadership, and project managementPerform other duties as assigned by site supervisionREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Solid understanding of underground sewer, water, and storm drain installationKnowledge of trench safety, OSHA standards, and confined space proceduresStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a teamAbility to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specificationsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsWillingness to learn and grow into a Foreman roleEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED required5+ years of underground utility construction experienceAt least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role preferredFamiliarity with MAG (Maricopa Association of Governments) specifications preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat and dustRegular exposure to construction site hazards and moving equipmentAbility to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 poundsStrong manual dexterity and coordination to operate tools and equipmentAbility to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periodsWork Locations: Multiple job sites throughout the Greater Phoenix ValleyDCS Contracting, Inc. offers a competitive benefits package including medical and dental plans with HSA options, company 401(k) match up to 4%, PTO and sick time, paid holidays, and employee recognition programs.DCS Contracting, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
