Security Officer Position

Job Skills / Requirements

IPSC is recruiting for security officers with excellent customer service and security skills to join our highly regarded team. Pay rate is $24 per hour paid weekly. This is a flexible (FLEX) position with 8-hour shifts requiring open availability. A California Guard License is required prior to hire, and candidates must be at least 21 years or older. Prior law enforcement experience, military experience, and/or two years of unarmed security are a plus.

Security officers will help to prevent and deter crime through:

• Performing both regular and random patrols of multiple premises
• Reporting any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences
• Performing control procedures when necessary
• Operating emergency equipment
• Documenting nightly operations and filing weekly reports
• Investigating breaches of property

Requirements include:

• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
• Sound communication skills
• Professional presentation
• Ability to work as a team member and solo
• Willingness and ability to work to a flexible roster, 7 days a week

Physical and mental job requirements include:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret written information
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle if required
• Ability to detect and identify sounds relevant to emergencies
• Ability to walk, run, stand, climb, sit
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. waist high if required
• Good mental health and ability to make decisions instantly in emergencies
• Meeting the physical and mental requirements of the state to be licensed as a security guard
