Job Summary and Qualifications

Obtain quality ultrasound images of patients 

Manage all ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information 

Demonstrates ability to perform all necessary computer operations 

Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocol. 

Prepare ultrasound machine and perform quality control tests 

Assist radiology nurse or radiologist in administering medications, performing biopsies and all types care to patient 

Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images 

Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties 

Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients. 

Completes and maintains educational requirements. 

 

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE 

REQUIRED: Minimum of year as a staff sonographer  

PREFERRED: Multiple years as a staff sonographer

EDUCATION 

REQUIRED:

Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology, competently trained in ultrasound or graduate of an AMA approved School of Ultrasound Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT and or ARDMS for licensure 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

American Registry of Radiologic Technology or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (preferred) or completion of registry within one year of employment 

Current CPR certification (required)
