Ultrasound Tech, PRN Variable

Overview

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
• Communicate effectively with staff and radiologists.

Education

• Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT. Required

Work Experience

• No experience required
• 1 year of experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire. Required
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Must become registered by ARDMS within 6 months of employment (within 180 days). Required
• Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within 6 months of employment (within 180 days). Required
• ARDMS or ARRT - Breast Sonography (BS). Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS). Required
• RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist. Preferred
• RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer. Preferred
