To support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water, the part-time UIC Technical Specialist will provide program support on underground injection control, groundwater protection, and policy development, focusing on subsurface injection operations. Key responsibilities Review geologic settings and site characterization related to subsurface injection projects Conduct background research and literature reviews on subsurface processes and site-specific investigations Research and write high-quality deliverables for clients while providing logistical and administrative support for project staff Required qualifications 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in natural sciences (e.g., geology, geochemistry, or earth science) Understanding of Underground Injection Control regulations, particularly for geologic sequestration wells Fluency in MS Office applications Strong oral and written communication skills Knowledge in geology, structural geology, stratigraphy, or subsurface flow and transport
