UI/UX Designer 4The main function of the User Experience Designer is to work with product teams to design and deliver high quality client-centered, effective, consistent and usable interfaces.

Responsibilities: Works closely with business analysts, business stakeholders, product owners, and dev teams to obtain and understand business requirements. Create user interface specifications by applying Customer/Dealer research (as applicable), design standards and industry best practices while taking into account strategic business objectives, user needs and systems constraints. Participates in design review sessions with product teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation. Works with the product owner to ensure that deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints. Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.Education & Experience Required:Degree required w/ 8 years experience requiredMasters degree w/ 5 years experience requiredTechnical Skills (Required):At least 3+ years UX Design experiencePreference will be given to candidates who have proven experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments3 years of experience with design tools such as Figma (required 1+ years), Sketch and other UX/UI softwareComfortable working autonomously with product and engineering teamsTop 3 Skills: Proficient in Figma, asks insightful questions, effective communicationTechnical Skills (Desired):3+ year exp designing complex systems or applicationsDisqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications:Choppy work historyIf UX portfolio link (and password) not listed on the resume, they will be DQ.Position's Contributions to Work Group:Support the evolution of the Customer Experience, developing the CX portfolio, roadmap, and reference architectureInteract with a cross-functional team and drive customer experience strategy and best practices to implement applications and platforms while maintaining a cohesive end-to-end experienceParticipate in delivery of projects, working through the many obstacles along the way across multiple teams, roles (UI/UX designers, business analysts, product owners, etc) and organizations through diligent planning, attention to detail, communications, and efficient decision makingStrong passion and hands-on technical experienceSupport the production of concept service designs and/or participate in the creation of artifacts by domain architects and implement personas, journey maps, storyboards, etc.Utilize exceptional problem-solving skills to work through difficult challenges and identify executable solutionsEffectively collaborate with other eBusiness CX architects, technical architects and data/content owners to define elements needed to deliver the experienceStay current with innovative improvements/processes available in the larger world of experience designReason/motivation for request:New HeadcountTypical task breakdown:Typical groups this position will interact with include business partners responsible for individual elements of a customers' experience (product groups, content area, etc) as well as vendors hired by these business partners.In addition, this position may work directly with dealers and end customers.These interactions stretch across the entirety of Caterpillar's business model and organization.This position may have direct relationships with Global Product Owners (GPO), Marketing/Product Support Managers, and Directors of various organizations, both internal and external.The position is challenged to identify problems quickly and correctly, some which may not be obvious.The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.Communications for needed investments, architectural changes, or business needs is critical to ensure solutions can be created to deliver the best experience possible.Interaction with team:Working with a Product team.Team Structure:Main workspace is with 2-3 other UX Designers and reporting to product owner and working with development leads (front end and back end).Work environment: Hybrid work environment (come in when asked)
