Trust OfficerThe Trust Officer is responsible for performing a variety of duties including: account administration, growing and retaining current customer portfolios, developing new business, conducting customer interviews and presentations, preparing financial profiles, analyzing financial information and identifying potential business areas, recommending investment / trust opportunities, reviewing client accounts regularly, remaining current on tax, regulatory and financial legislation and legal issues relating to trust law, and resolving customer enquiries.Essential FunctionsComply with Trust policies and proceduresAnalyze and Interpret legal documents to determine the best course of action to follow in the management of individual accountsReview customer account transactions dailyOversee / schedule client distributions / bill paymentsSchedule client meets on periodic basisReview financial / investment markets dailyPrepare / review customer documentation and agreementsManage personal workload/workflowAdminister Trust relationships appropriatelyConduct regular investment review of portfolio with Investment OfficerAdminister Guardianship accountsAdminister Custodian accountsAssure appropriate management of IRA's and fundsAssure accurate / timely settlement of EstatesRespond to Employee Benefit inquiries appropriatelyDevelop a high community profileInitiate and author client correspondenceCultivate potential referrals from exist accountsAnalyze accurate customer needsRecommend investment / trust alternativesPerform presentations / meets with prospectsFinalize new agreements with customersCoordinate and prepare information for RFP requestsCross sell other Bank products and servicesRecommend improvements to proceduresMaximize technology tools availableAssure accurate information passed to Trust OperationsOversee system cod on individual accountsSelf-learn / knowledge of Microsoft Office / Trust Account SystemSelf-learn / knowledge of Internet & EmailMinimize departmental non-payroll costsAdhere to stated Trust department fee schedulesMinimize nonstandard fee schedulesAdditional Essential FunctionsEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyWork as part of a teamWork with on-site equipment Safety and Health for Supervisors with Direct ReportsProvide leadership and positive direction for maintaining the safety and loss prevention programActively participate in and support employee participation in the safety and loss prevention program by ensuring that employees know how to properly report a safety issue, making sure that all accidents are promptly reported to Human Resources and documented, and ensuring that prompt action is taken whenever workplace hazards are identifiedHelp implement emergency proceduresQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
