Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic vision and operationalization of Depop’s Global Trust & Safety organization.
  • Champion Depop’s commitment to user safety by embedding user-centric perspectives and a product-led approach into strategy and decision-making at scale.
  • Transform Depop’s moderation operations in partnership with internal cross-functional teams to build next-generation services; drive staffing, infrastructure, and tooling investments.
  • Anticipate company-wide safety vulnerabilities, shape enterprise-level solutions, and guide the organization through ambiguity and change with resilience and vision.
  • Develop and drive plans from inception to delivery.
  • Understand safety issues and the architecture and integration points of Depop’s community safety support processes, products, and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging issues in the Trust & Safety space.
  • Be a thought leader in Trust and Safety, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to champion a safe, trusted space for the community.
  • Communicate feedback, challenges, roadblocks, and insights effectively to appropriate audiences and stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong bench of senior leaders, promote equitable people practices, and create an environment that nurtures future leaders; proactively advocate for teams by resolving cross-organizational challenges.
  • Remain calm under pressure and coach teams to navigate fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading teams in Trust & Safety Operations (e.g., content moderation, compliance, risk, authentication).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Track record of operationalizing company vision and strategy into departmental plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Critical thinker who translates regulatory and policy requirements into operational processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and shape solutions beyond immediate asks, with strong problem-solving at scale.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and excellent stakeholder management.
  • Experience building relationships with cross-functional teams, especially Product & Engineering, delivering impact through communication and alignment.
  • Inspiring, empathetic, and inclusive leadership with respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic and analytical capabilities with operational rigor and proactive can-do mentality.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment, balancing speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required; another European language preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology or a fast-paced environment, preferably in a two-sided marketplace.
  • Industry domain expertise in technology/UGC platforms.
  • Experience with process design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a product-led environment.
