Truss SawyerThe Truss Sawyer is responsible for operating saw equipment to accurately cut lumber and building materials used in truss and component manufacturing. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are cut to specification, staged efficiently, and prepared for assembly. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Saw Operation & Material ProcessingOperate saws and related production equipment to cut materials according to work orders, cut lists, and specificationsPosition saw controls and equipment to achieve accurate dimensions and anglesReview work orders and production schedules to ensure materials are processed correctlyVerify measurements and inspect cut materials for quality and accuracyProduction SupportRetrieve and prepare materials for production based on work orders and batch requirementsStack, band, label, and stage materials for downstream production processesAssist with movement of materials using forklifts, industrial trucks, hoists, or other approved equipmentSupport material replenishment and inventory organization as neededQuality ControlInspect raw materials and finished cut products to ensure compliance with company standardsIdentify defects, discrepancies, or quality concerns and report them promptlyPerform ongoing quality checks throughout production activitiesEquipment Maintenance & SafetyConduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenanceMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasFollow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standardsReport equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or operational issues immediatelyTeam CollaborationWork closely with production, assembly, and supervisory teams to meet production goalsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and efficient workflow practicesPerform additional duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and production instructionsBasic math skills, including measuring and calculating dimensions accuratelyMechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery safelyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExperience operating saws or production equipmentExperience in manufacturing, truss production, woodworking, construction, or building materials environmentsFamiliarity with measuring tools and reading cut listsForklift or material handling equipment experience preferredBasic computer skills and familiarity with production systemsWhat you'll earn:Health Care BenefitsPaid Time OffQXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
