Truck Driver
The Class A truck driver performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans. Ability to operate roll-offs and trailers. Major job responsibilities include running the tractor-trailer roll-off and dumps. A CDL Class A License is required. The facility to pick up the truck is located at 3220 Deepwater Terminal, Richmond, VA 23234. A typical daily schedule is from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Average 50 hours per week) Regional travel includes Chesapeake, VA, Yorktown, VA, Richmond, VA, Petersburg, VA, Fishersville, VA, New Bern, NC. Candidates must have a great past driving record. Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to the company's safety plan. Review of daily schedule to determine supply needs and accuracy of routing. Ensure daily supplies are on the vehicle before leaving the dock to proceed with the daily schedule. Communicate with the logistics department at the end of each stop on the scheduled route. Completion of the daily drive route sheet. Conduct daily vehicle inspections. Perform vehicle fueling and turn in corresponding receipts to the logistics manager.
Job qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), a NY Class A Driver's License, a minimum of 21 years of age, 3+ years (preferred) of tractor-trailer (dump trailer, flatbed, van trailer) or roll-off truck driving experience (straight job or articulated trailer), a current, clear motor vehicle report, the ability to communicate in English (oral and written), passing DOT physical and drug testing requirements, and understanding basic DOT regulations. The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
