Truck Driver

The Class A truck driver performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans. Ability to operate tractors with trailers. Major Job Responsibilities/Duties include maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company's safety plan, reviewing daily schedule to determine supply needs accuracy of routing, ensuring daily supplies are on vehicle before leaving dock to proceed with daily schedule, communicating with logistic department at the end of each stop on scheduled route, completion of daily drive route sheet, conducting daily vehicle inspections, and performing vehicle fueling and turn in corresponding receipts to logistics manager.

Job Qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), possession of a NY Class A Driver License, minimum 21 years of age, 3+ years (preferred) of tractor trailer or roll-off truck driving experience, a current clear NY motor vehicle report, ability to communicate in English (oral and written), passing DOT physical and drug testing requirements, and understanding Basic DOT Regulations. The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, talking or hearing, walking and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
