Job Overview
Provide academic, career, transfer, retention, and financial attainment support to present and prospective TRIO SSS Grant participants at Northeast Iowa Community College.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
B.A. in education, counseling, student personnel or related-field required. Minimum 2 years of experience in higher educational setting preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES :
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Assist in the recruitment and retention of TRIO SSS participants.
Assist in academic assessment of participants and in development of Individual Education Plans.
Assist in the development of TRIO SSS Grant College Success course.
Arrange and participate in campus tours and cultural enrichment events.
Complete educational plans (EP) and class registrations for TRIO SSS participants.
Explain the implications of the transfer process and assist participants with setting educational goals accordingly.
Arrange for appropriate assessment activities and remediation as needed.
Assist TRIO SSS participants seeking financial aid.
Assist TRIO SSS participants in identifying and accessing community resources.
Assist in the creation, implementation, and administration of TRIO SSS Student Seminar/Orientation program.
Assist with the coordination of meetings, events, and projects related to the TRIO SSS Grant program.
Assist in the maintenance of comprehensive computerized data for all SSS participants.
