Job Brief

Our client, a leading consumer advocate firm with an outstanding success rate, is seeking a highly skilled Trial Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced litigator to shape the future of consumer protection law through impactful courtroom advocacy. You will represent California consumers in automotive lemon law, dealer fraud, and product liability cases, holding corporations accountable for their actions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct depositions of corporate and expert witnesses.
• Prepare and file trial documents, including motions, oppositions, jury instructions, verdict forms, and trial briefs.
• Prepare and examine witnesses for trial testimony with detailed examination outlines.
• Serve as first-chair trial attorney with the support of a second-chair associate.
• Collaborate with partners and appellate specialists on potential post-trial appeals.
• Develop and execute trial strategies with precision and creativity.
• Travel across California for 5-8 court day trials.
• Stay updated on Song-Beverly Act developments and implement partner-directed strategies in the trial.
• Accurately report and bill hours worked.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• California Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum 10 years of litigation experience with a proven record as a first-chair trial attorney (submit representative matters list).
• Willingness to work in a paperless environment using technology solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
• Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
