We are a top 125 nationwide law firm seeking an accomplished Trial Attorney with proven first chair trial experience to join our growing Orange County office. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned trial attorney who thrives in the courtroom and is looking to handle high exposure, complex matters while working alongside a team of highly respected legal professionals.

The Trial Attorney will take a lead role in managing and trying complex civil litigation matters from inception through verdict. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of serving as first chair counsel, exceptional courtroom presence, and the ability to develop case strategies that drive successful outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as first chair counsel in civil litigation matters, including jury and bench trials.
• Develop and execute comprehensive litigation and trial strategies.
• Handle all aspects of case management from initial evaluation through trial and appeal, as needed.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive depositions.
• Lead trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial presentation.
• Represent clients at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and court hearings.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and litigation risks while providing strategic advice to clients.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and litigation support staff.
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated first chair trial experience with favorable outcomes.
• Extensive experience handling depositions, motion practice, and courtroom appearances.
• Strong command of trial procedure, evidence, and courtroom advocacy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complex, high stakes litigation independently.
• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
