The Treasury Manager oversees financing, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting for GL’s homebuilding and commercial divisions, mortgage company, and title company. The role manages borrowing base and loan reporting, develops forecasts to support financial decisions, coordinates with project teams, lenders, and other external partners, and supports special projects at the CFO’s request.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in obtaining and analyzing financing options for the homebuilding, commercial, and mortgage divisions.
- Manage loan activity for homebuilding communities and commercial projects, including preparing and reviewing monthly borrowing base reports, reconciling loan balances with lenders, and supporting land appraisals.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to project borrowing needs and interest expense and support distribution decisions.
- Monitor daily cash activity, execute bank transfers, and process wire payments in accordance with established approval procedures.
- Analyze and recalculate interest income and interest expense across bank accounts and borrowing arrangements to verify accuracy.
- Analyze bank fees and treasury services to identify discrepancies and opportunities to improve cost or efficiency.
- Assist with corporate bank account administration, including account opening, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reports for banks, investors, and management
- Participate in project meetings and visit communities as needed.
- Support loan renewals, lender requests, and bank meeting preparation.
- Coordinate cash and debt-related audit confirmations.
- Oversee the tracking of bonding requirements, assist with bond execution, and maintain accurate bond schedules.
- Analyze financial results of peer homebuilders and lending institutions, benchmark performance, and summarize key findings and industry trends.
- Review annual real estate tax analyses for homebuilding and commercial projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve treasury reporting, controls, and processes.
- Support the Treasurer and CFO with financial analysis and special projects.
Experience and Skills
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- At least six years of progressive experience in public accounting, treasury, or corporate finance.
- Experience with real estate or construction financing preferred.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, MBA, or CPA designation preferred.
