Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring images are accurate and passed to physicians for interpretation.
• Prepare and care for patients undergoing radiologic testing.
• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients.
• Follow orders from physicians regarding the area of the patient's body to be imaged.
• Position the patient correctly and adjust the imaging equipment as needed.
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure by taking appropriate protective precautions.
• Calibrate imaging equipment.
• Prepare results for physician review.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
• BLS certification.
• ARRT (R) National Certification.
• State‑specific licensing when required.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment begins.
