Responsibilities
- Use diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring images are accurate and passed to physicians for interpretation.
- Prepare and care for patients undergoing radiologic testing.
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients.
- Follow orders from physicians regarding the area of the patient's body to be imaged.
- Position the patient correctly and adjust the imaging equipment as needed.
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure by taking appropriate protective precautions.
- Calibrate imaging equipment.
- Prepare results for physician review.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
- BLS certification.
- ARRT (R) National Certification.
- State‑specific licensing when required.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment begins.
