Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care within a telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating Requirements: Within Med Surg/Tele service line

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an oncology setting
• Required Certifications: BLS Certification mandatory; chemotherapy certification preferred
• Essential Skills: Proficiency in telemetry reading and interpretation, familiarity with oncology, and the ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding
• Knowledge of Drips: Experience with heparin and Cardizem titration is required

• Caring for patients with various diagnoses in oncology and general medical-surgical settings
• Managing full telemetry capabilities, including reading strips in a central monitoring unit
• Providing care under the supervision of a charge nurse who does not typically take patients
• Assisting in procedures such as accessing, changing sterile dressings for central lines and ports

Teamwork and communication are essential in creating a collaborative environment. Our nursing staff works closely with certified nursing assistants, who assist with patient care on the unit.

Professional looking scrubs are required. Casual t-shirts are not permitted, and close-toed shoes must be worn.

The role includes scheduling flexibility and requires participation in orientation sessions, including an Epic class for electronic health records. Potential candidates should possess a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
