American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital setting requiring CST and BLS certifications at time of consideration.

High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program
Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required at time of consideration
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of experience required
Active state license required if applicable
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical instrumentation
Skilled in sterile technique, processing, and patient positioning

Hospital-based surgical technologist position supporting a variety of advanced and complex surgical procedures
Day shift Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours per day
Requires on-call/call-back availability, including back-up call for emergency cases
Scrub in on a variety of advanced and complex surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision
Anticipate surgeon preferences for instruments and materials and adjust accordingly
Set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications for procedures
Disassemble, clean, and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
Monitor and maintain sterility of supplies and instruments to support quality patient care
Track and order department supplies as neededContribute to educational programs and learning aids for surgical staff
Provide input on policies, procedures, and patient care standards
Participate in assigned committees as needed
Start date will be no less than 6 weeks after fingerprints are processed
Housing and transportation are not provided by the facility
