American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for an OB unit position, requiring at least 2 years of experience with CST certification highly preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- BLS certification required
- CST certification highly preferred
- Travel experience preferred but not required for highly experienced techs
- Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, and sharps safety
- Experience with case cart, cell saver, crash cart, and high level disinfectant (HLD)
- Knowledge of sterile processing, decontamination, and sterilization procedures
- Experience with sets/trays assembly and preparation of hard instrument containers
- License required if applicable
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical Services department as an OB Tech
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
- 13-week assignment length
- At least 6 weekend shifts required per schedule period
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Gynecologic and obstetric case types including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, bilateral tubal ligation, cervical cerclage, and dilation & curettage
- Support OB and gynecologic surgical procedures including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and various gynecologic surgeries
- Maintain sterile fields and assist with instrument and equipment preparation
- Follow proper sterile processing and decontamination protocols
- Accepts local candidates at the local rate
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers may be considered if highly experienced
