Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring 3 years of experience and proficiency in robotic, neuro, thoracic, and ENT procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience required (hard requirement)
• BLS certification required
• Circulating and scrubbing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency required in robotic surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, and ENT procedures
• Experience required across multiple services including ENT/Plastics (flaps/microvascular), endoscopic procedures (bronch/EGD/EBUS/LS), neuro (craniotomy/EEA/skull base), thoracic, and robotics
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Responsibilities

• Cancer hospital operating room setting
• Day/evening rotating schedule combining 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hours/week
• Call and weekend coverage as needed
• Multiple surgical services covered including surgical oncology, thoracic, colorectal, urology, GYN oncology, head & neck/ENT, neuro, ortho, plastics/reconstructive, and robotics
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Provide surgical technology support including circulating and scrubbing across a wide range of specialty procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Candidates should be prepared to scrub a variety of services including surgical oncology, thoracic, colorectal, urology, GYN oncology, head & neck/ENT, neuro, ortho, plastics/reconstructive, and robotics
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly after signing contract, with urgency required for scheduling
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
