American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine experience for a day shift hospital operating room position.


Requirements

  • Active state license required if applicable
  • NBSTSA certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required
  • Trade or technical school certificate or diploma required

Responsibilities

  • Hospital operating room setting
  • Day shift schedule
  • 13-week assignment
  • Proficiency required in total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine procedures
  • Work under the direct supervision of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures
  • Check supplies and equipment needed for each procedure
  • Scrub, gown, and glove self, surgeon, and assistants
  • Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulator before and after procedures
  • Assist in draping the sterile field and pass instruments to the surgeon during the procedure
  • Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique throughout procedures
  • Assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
  • Help prep the surgical suite for the next patient
  • Support training of new employees and students in the Surgical Technologist role
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius of the facility
