Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CVORT

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring National Certification and CVOR experience, along with call coverage responsibilities.

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license required if applicable
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists
• CVOR experience required

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Surgery unit specializing in CVOR procedures
• Day/evening shift with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week )
• Call requirement of a minimum of 14 days within a 6-week schedule
• 13-week assignment length
• Functions as a vital OR team member responsible for the scrub role during surgical procedures
• Maintains a safe, sterile environment following AORN standards and facility policies
• Demonstrates proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures and equipment
• Sets up and maintains the sterile field and properly uses instruments, sutures, and stapling devices
• Accurately performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts at appropriate times
• Prepares for cases according to surgeon preference cards and procedures
• Identifies and reports faulty equipment or unsafe conditions
• Saves and identifies specimens per department policy
• Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations effectively
