Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CVORT

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR hospital position requiring 2+ years of CVOR first and second scrub experience and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• NBSTSA certification required
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR surgical technologist, with both first and second scrub experience required
• Prior travel healthcare experience required
• Minimum 2 years of prior work experience in a US hospital setting in this specialty required
• Active license required, no pending licenses accepted
• License required if applicable
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CVOR unit assignment
• 13-week contract with day shift schedule, Monday through Friday
• 10-hour shifts starting at 06:30 and ending at 17:00
• Exact scheduled days determined upon arrival based on unit needs
• Call requirements of 11-12 shifts per month, including weekend shifts
• Prepare supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases based on knowledge of the procedure
• Anticipate the surgical team's needs in the field, including passing instruments during procedures
• Responsible for case clean up, patient positioning, patient transport, and room turnovers
• Pull supplies, equipment, and sutures for assigned cases and open surgical rooms
• Perform counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps with the RN according to department standards
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with organizational guidelines
• Local candidates will not be considered due to the 100-mile radius requirement
