Requirements
- , least 2 years of OR experience in CVOR or general OR specialty
- Must have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist education program prior to start
- BLS certification required
- National certification preferred
- Active license required if applicable
- Strong and recent experience with CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases required
- Experience scrubbing in orthopedic, general surgery, GYN, urology, robotic, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics cases
- Epic EMR experience
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Responsibilities
- ORs plus a procedure/cysto room, averaging 45 cases per day across the department
- CVOR patient population includes cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, AVR, MVR, mini mitral, and septal myomectomy
- Vascular cases include fistula creations, transcarotid revascularization, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, bypasses, and dissections
- Thoracic cases include VATS, robotic resections, lobectomies, and pericardial windows
- Also scrubs in Main OR cases spanning orthopedic, spine, general surgery, GYN, urology, breast, podiatry, plastics, and robotic procedures
- 12-hour day shift schedule from 7A-7P, 36 hours per week standard
- On-call requirements include 4-5 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule
- Weekend work is typically limited to call rotation
- May be scheduled to work or be on call for holidays as part of rotation
- No floating required
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
- Facility is a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center with no trauma designation
- Support surgical teams across a high-volume OR department performing a wide range of specialty procedures
- Department support includes OR assistants for room turnovers, stocking, and patient positioning, along with receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverage
- Orientation consists of 1 week for Main OR and 2 weeks for CVOR, structured as five 8-hour shifts
- Scrubs are provided and parking is free
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
