Travel Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient) in Houston, Texas. The position involves evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, and swallowing impairments in a hospital setting. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans tailored to patients age and needs, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
Job Details
Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology, at least 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Neonatal and pediatric experience, adult speech therapy experience, experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies.
Unit Information: The role is based on a unit with 381 beds, including NICU, pediatric, and adult patients. Equipment utilized includes Meditech Magic and Meditech Expanse electronic medical record systems.
Typical Procedures: Assessment of speech, language, and swallowing, development of evidence-based intervention plans, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and documentation of patient progress.
Additional Information: The candidate will be expected to exhibit high-functioning capabilities, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to responsibilities. The work environment adheres to unit policies, with a dress code of dark blue scrubs. Weekend and on-call duties are not applicable for this role.
