Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient)
Located in Farmington, New Mexico. This position involves providing specialized speech therapy services within the acute care rehabilitation department in a busy level III trauma center. The role includes working with adult and geriatric patient populations, addressing diagnoses such as dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, and cognitive deficits. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Details
Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, 4 days per week, Thursday through Sunday; guaranteed 36 hours weekly with scheduled 40 hours; hours are to be determined with hours of operation Monday through Sunday.
Required Qualifications: NM State Speech Language Pathologist license, Clinical Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC), BLS certification; minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist; no experience requirement for this role.
Preferred Qualifications: Acute and critical care experience, including Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS).
Additional Information: Must be proficient in MBSS or FEES, with FEES experience preferred. The unit provides 7-day/week services with a patient ratio of 8-12 patients per day, varying based on referrals and hours worked. The department uses Cerner electronic health record system. Expected to attend mandatory meetings, potentially during unpaid lunch break, which will be adjusted to reflect paid time. Dress code includes dark gray (peter) tops and black pants, scrubs or polo/button-up shirts; no jeans.
