Acute care hospital setting treating strokes, geriatrics, general weakness, and related diagnoses No major trauma cases, as those are transferred to other facilities Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Uses Meditech charting system Utilizes TIMS West Coast equipment for swallow studies Holiday coverage required Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience as an SLP, though new grads with acute care experience may be considered Current BLS certification required CCC-SLP certification required MBSImP certification required, with training available on-unit FEES certification preferred Meditech charting experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred License required if applicable License pending candidates may be considered Additional Information
Perform bedside swallow evaluations, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and related dysphagia management Experience conducting and interpreting FEES and MBS studies preferred Provide patient and family education as part of treatment plans Deliver care using compensatory strategies, thermal stimulation, and other dysphagia interventions First-time travelers accepted Travel pairs accepted Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers Management is willing to work with clinicians on time off requests, though minimal RTO is preferred
