American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience to work night shifts in a Level I trauma center's cardiac telemetry and med-surg units.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Responsibilities
- 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
- Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
- Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
- Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
- Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
- Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating patient condition to the care team
- Serve as primary coordinator among disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
- Work collaboratively in nursing teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
- Holiday coverage may be required based on departmental need
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment requiring critical thinking and sound judgment
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
