Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry proficiency and at least 2 years of neuro/tele experience.

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• EKG compliance exam required with proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong neuro experience required for first-time travelers
• Skills required: IV start, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Stepdown Neuro unit in a Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma hospital with 500 staffed beds
• Patient population includes neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy cases such as TBI, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping/coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, and seizure
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope; travelers float first
• Block scheduling not available
• Epic charting system used
• Blue scrub color required
• Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management for neuro/tele patients
• Care for patients with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays with 1 holiday off permitted
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days, and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a travamper
• First-time travelers considered only if they have strong neuro experience
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
